ALERT: Tesla Recalls Cybertrucks

(5MinNewsBreak.com) – In a stunning reversal for the American car manufacturer, Tesla’s flagship Cybertruck is falling apart—literally.

The electric vehicle manufacturer is recalling over a staggering 46,000 Cybertrucks due to exterior panels that could detach while driving, creating dangerous road hazards.

This latest recall represents yet another setback for Elon Musk’s once-untouchable company, which is currently facing plummeting stock values and growing consumer backlash.

The recall affects virtually all Cybertrucks on American roads—specifically those manufactured between November 13, 2023, and February 27, 2025.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the problem involves an exterior “cant rail” that may separate from the vehicle, potentially causing accidents for other motorists.

“If the cant rail stainless steel panel separates from the vehicle while in drive, it could create a road hazard for following motorists and increase their risk of injury or a collision,” warned the NHTSA.

The recall represents just the latest in a series of embarrassing quality control issues plaguing Tesla’s much-hyped vehicle.

Videos of loose panels have spread across social media, and frustrated owners have documented similar problems on Cybertruck owner forums.

This is not even the first time Tesla has faced this exact issue as the company previously recalled Cybertrucks for problems with metal trim around the trunk bed.

While Tesla claims no injuries or accidents have resulted from the defect, the company has received 151 warranty claims related to the issue.

The NHTSA initiated the investigation after a vehicle owner reported a panel detachment.

The timing could not be worse for Tesla, which has seen its stock plummet nearly 42% this year alone.

Tesla is currently battling increased competition from traditional automakers, consumer boycotts, and growing criticism of Musk’s outspoken political positions.

Unlike most Tesla recalls, which can be fixed with over-the-air software updates, this defect requires physical repairs. The company will replace the defective rail assembly free of charge.

The Cybertruck’s troubles extend beyond quality issues. Market analysts have noted weakening demand for the vehicle, which experienced multiple delays before finally reaching consumers.

With its $100,000+ price tag for fully-equipped models, the Cybertruck faces an increasingly difficult sales environment as consumers grow more cautious about Tesla products.

This recall is part of a troubling pattern: Tesla accounted for a massive 5.1 million vehicle recalls in 2024.
