(5MinNewsBreak.com) – A family was left shattered and a community in shock after a Texas teen reacted to rejection by committing a murder.

17-year-old Christian Gasca Martinez stands accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend’s stepfather after she dared to end their relationship.

Houston police recently arrested Martinez for the alleged murder of 37-year-old Osvaldo Casas.

The victim was a family man expecting a child with his wife. He confronted Martinez on their street after the teen had been stalking his 16-year-old stepdaughter.

Court documents reveal a chilling pattern of behavior leading up to the fatal encounter: Martinez was unable to accept rejection and escalated from harassment to violence.

“The allegations are that the 17-year-old defendant briefly dated the … 16-year-old daughter,” a judge said at a hearing.

“The daughter stopped seeing this defendant after the defendant assaulted and unlawfully restrained her. The defendant repeatedly called the daughter until she blocked the defendant’s phone number,” the judge added.

The situation escalated when Martinez took to social media, posting threats and photos of himself with a gun.

Judith Molina, Casas’ pregnant wife, witnessed the horrific crime and even held Casas in her arms while he was dying.

She reported that Martinez was upset because her stepdaughter “wanted to do nothing with him.” Molina added, “So, he was stalking her, stalking our house for days.”

Martinez is currently held on a $200,000 bond and faces murder charges. His court appearance was scheduled for today and will be closely watched by a community demanding justice.

As we grapple with these issues, the Casas family’s tragedy is a sobering reminder that crime has become a pressing issue for Americans heading into this year’s crucial election.
