Walz’s political career, which began with his election to Congress in 2006, was built on the image of a moderate Midwesterner who could appeal across party lines.

The Trump campaign accused him of violating the Stolen Valor Act, while Walz weakly tried to explained that he “misspoke” due to emotion.

His message of economic prosperity, strong borders and American values clearly resonated with voters across the country, including those in traditionally Democrat areas.
Discussing his reasons for entering the political arena, Walz stated, “I wound up teaching social studies and coaching football at Mankato West High School. It was those players and my students that inspired me to run for Congress.”
Ironically, it seems that the very community that inspired Walz’s political career has now rejected his party’s vision for America.
Walz’s silence since the election results were announced also speaks volumes. It contrasts the triumphant tone he struck during the campaign when he boldly claimed, “We’re going to win this thing.”
In turn, voters delivered a reality check in Blue Earth County and across the nation that has left the Democrat Party reeling and searching for answers.
