Going from “more than 1,800” gotaways every day to just 38, President Donald Trump’s border security strategy has delivered a historic drop in illegal border crossings in April 2025.

Watch the video down below.

With fewer than 10,000 aliens crossing illegally compared to over 128,000 last year, this dramatic decline vindicates the president’s campaign promises on immigration and border security.

Border Czar Tom Homan announced a staggering 96% reduction in illegal immigration under President Trump’s administration during a White House briefing highlighting the administration’s first 100 days.

The dramatic turnaround follows four years of what officials described as deliberate border neglect under the previous administration.

Homan stated:

“Known gotaways—people we knew crossed the border… weren’t apprehended, weren’t fingerprinted, weren’t vetted. Average day under Joe Biden? More than 1,800 gotaways. Yesterday? 38—38 too many, but we’ll get that to zero. We went from 1,800 [per day] to 38.”

The April figures follow February’s 8,300 and March’s 7,100 illegal crossings, representing the lowest numbers in at least 25 years.

Manny Bayon, a veteran Border Patrol agent with 25 years of service, confirmed these statistics represent unprecedented lows in his entire career, a testament to the effectiveness of President Trump’s policies.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt proudly announced, “We are in the process of carrying out the largest deportation campaign in American history.”

The administration has empowered Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to fully perform their duties after years of restrictions that prevented them from enforcing immigration laws.

The administration’s “Operation Tidal Wave” has already resulted in over 139,000 deportations, with ICE arresting more than 66,000 illegal aliens in the president’s first 100 days.

Unlike the previous administration’s catch-and-release policies, the Trump White House reported that only nine illegal aliens have been released into the United States during this period.

“We’re just 100 days into this administration and thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem, ICE is using every tool at its disposal to enforce our country’s immigration laws and protect our communities,” said acting ICE director Todd Lyons.

The administration’s tough stance includes designating gangs like Tren de Aragua and MS-13 as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

This classification has enabled a 655% increase in terrorist arrests and facilitated the dismantling of migrant criminal networks.

Recent deportations included sending migrants to an El Salvador mega-prison and deporting Venezuelan gang members using the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.

“We will expel every single illegal alien gang member and migrant criminal operating on American soil and remove the savage gang, Tren de Aragua, from the United States,” President Trump declared.

The administration has also tackled sanctuary cities, threatening to withhold federal funding from jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with immigration authorities.

Additionally, President Trump signed the Laken Riley Act into law, delivering justice for families affected by migrant crime.

The number of unaccompanied illegal alien children has reached record lows, further demonstrating the administration’s commitment to ending the humanitarian crisis at the border.

Border enforcement has been complemented by infrastructure improvements, with over 85 miles of new border barriers either constructed or in the planning stage.
