Nicholas John Roske was found armed with a gun and zip ties when he was arrested near the Justice’s Maryland home after the Supreme Court draft opinion on Roe v. Wade was leaked.
The 26-year-old California man will plead guilty to attempting to assassinate Justice Kavanaugh in a case that highlights the dangerous radicalization of the left.
According to court documents, Roske’s attorneys have requested a hearing for him to enter a guilty plea without any plea agreement, meaning he now faces the maximum sentence of life in prison.
This development comes nearly three years after his arrest, when U.S. Marshals spotted him lurking near Justice Kavanaugh’s residence in Chevy Chase in the dead of night.
Federal authorities revealed that Roske’s motivation stemmed directly from the leaked draft opinion suggesting the Supreme Court might rightfully overturn Roe v. Wade.
Roske believed that by eliminating a conservative Justice, he could change the court’s decisions “for decades to come.”
