Carville’s Kamala NIGHTMARE

(5MinNewsBreak.com) – Becoming a thorn in his party’s side, Democrat strategist James Carville recently doubted Kamala Harris would be able to successfully explain her shift from the liberal stances she took during her 2020 campaign.

During her initial presidential run, Harris endorsed progressive policies such as a fracking ban, mandatory federal gun buybacks and the abolition of private health insurance.

Speaking on the “THE DAILY BLAST with Greg Sargent” podcast, Carville discussed Harris’ struggle to effectively address these past positions.

Carville noted that Harris had “an ineffective answer for 2019” when discussing potential difficulties for her campaign.

Carville elaborated, “[Harris] really moved to the left in the primaries in 2019. Leading up to the 2020 primaries. It was bad. And she needs overarching answers to place all that in context.”

Regarding Harris’ opponents, Carville remarked, “They’re dangerous. They’re hit. They were knocked off their balance. They’re still off balance. But they’ll get it back.” He clarified that his comments were about Trump supporters.

Since announcing her 2024 presidential run on July 21, Harris has moderated some of her earlier positions but has not addressed these changes in a formal interview.

Carville defended this approach in a conversation with Republican strategist Lance Trover, arguing that Harris did not need to have in-depth interviews in the early stages of her campaign.

“Where is it written that in the first five weeks of the campaign, you have to do a long-form interview? That’s just a made-up thing,” Carville stated. “That’s absurd. She’s been quite busy and has done quite well.

“And she’s got more things to do than sit around and wait around and do a long-form interview, of which after you do it, the press is going to forget about it anyway,” he added.

Barack Obama’s former chief campaign strategist David Axelrod also shared insights, suggesting Harris’ 2020 campaign did not reflect her true political nature.

He described her not as a far-left candidate but as a centrist Democrat with a substantial background in law enforcement.

“She wasn’t successful in 2020. And I don’t think she was a very good candidate in 2020. She didn’t make it to 2020, actually,” Axelrod explained.

“Because this is who she is, I think the way she’s running now. She spent her career as a prosecutor, as an attorney general. I think she’s a center-left Democrat,” Axelrod said.
