DefSec Hegseth: ‘We Are Putting in Place New Leadership’

(5MinNewsBreak.com) – The damaging liberal era in the military is coming to an end as President Donald Trump takes decisive action to refocus its core mission by firing woke leadership.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has described the bombshell move as “putting in place new leadership” that will work for the American people.

The shake-up at the Pentagon signals a return to America-first priorities and an end to diversity initiatives that have weakened the armed forces.

Specifically, President Trump dismissed Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. from his position as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The firings extend beyond Brown. Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti and Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen. Jim Slife have also been removed from their positions.

This decision comes as part of a broader restructuring aimed at aligning military leadership with the administration’s defense priorities and eliminating distractions from the core mission of national security.

President Trump announced the nomination of retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine to succeed Brown, marking a significant shift in military leadership.

Secretary Hegseth praised the decision, stating, “General Caine embodies the warfighter ethos and is exactly the leader we need to meet the moment. I look forward to working with him.”

He added, “Under President Trump, we are putting in place new leadership that will focus our military on its core mission of deterring, fighting and winning wars.”

The president’s decision to replace Brown comes after mounting criticism of the general’s support for diversity and inclusion initiatives, which many viewed as prioritizing social engineering over military readiness.

Brown gained attention in 2020 for a video message about race following George Floyd’s death, making him a target for the administration’s stance against “wokeness” in the military.

“Making our military great again means destroying wokeness and firing the generals that promoted it,” explained Senator Jim Banks (R-IN).

These changes reflect President Trump’s commitment to installing leadership that will prioritize military effectiveness over social experiments.

In addition to the leadership changes, the Pentagon is undergoing a broader restructuring.

It will dismiss 5,400 probationary workers and plans to cut its budget by 8% annually over the next five years.

These measures aim to streamline operations and redirect resources to essential defense capabilities.

While critics have called the firings politically motivated, supporters argue that these changes are necessary to maintain a strong, focused military.

The move signals President Trump’s commitment to asserting stronger executive authority in his second term and removing officials who do not align with his vision for a powerful, efficient defense force.
