(5MinNewsBreak.com) – A groundbreaking DNA discovery may finally unmask Jack the Ripper, the infamous serial killer who terrorized London’s East End in 1888.
The breakthrough potentially identifies Polish barber Aaron Kosminski as the culprit behind the brutal murders that have baffled investigators for over a century.
Led by author and researcher Russell Edwards, the DNA analysis centers on a shawl belonging to Catherine Eddowes, one of the “Canonical Five” victims attributed to Jack the Ripper.
Edwards obtained the shawl in 2007, setting the stage for a scientific breakthrough that could rewrite criminal history.
Forensic examination of the shawl revealed a damning combination of evidence: blood matching Eddowes’ descendants and seminal fluid linked to Aaron Kosminski’s family line.
This genetic fingerprint has reignited interest in the case and sparked heated debate among criminologists and historians.
Some experts dispute Edwards’ conclusions, citing potential contamination and scientific errors.
Still, the families of Jack the Ripper’s victims are seizing this opportunity to seek long-overdue justice.
They are pushing for a new inquest, supported by both Eddowes’ and Kosminski’s descendants, in a united front to uncover the truth.
Karen Miller, a descendant of Catherine Eddowes, stated:
“The name Jack the Ripper has become sensationalised, it has gone down in history as this famous character. It has all been about him, this iconic name, but people have forgotten about the victims who did not have justice at the time. What about the real name of the person who did this?”
“Having the real person legally named in a court which can consider all the evidence would be a form of justice for the victims,” she added.
“We have got the proof, now we need this inquest to legally name the killer. It would mean a lot to me, to my family, to a lot of people to finally have this crime solved,” Miller concluded.
The push for a new inquest faces bureaucratic troubles, as it requires the Attorney General’s permission.
Previous requests were denied due to insufficient new evidence, but supporters argue that this DNA breakthrough changes everything.
Even East London coroner Nadia Persaud has expressed openness to holding a new inquest, signaling potential progress.
Adding intrigue to the case, Edwards has uncovered potential links between Kosminski and the Freemasons, suggesting a possible explanation for why he was never arrested.
Sue Parlour also shared some words regarding the discovery. Her husband is a distant relative to “Canonical Five” Mary Ann Nichols.
“There was no justice for these victims at the time. It was all such a long time ago. But it would mean a lot to finally be able to name the killer, to get some closure on this. These women have been dismissed as just prostitutes like they did not matter, but they did.” Parlour expressed.
The original 1888 inquest concluded with a verdict of “wilful murder,” but failed to identify the killer.
Now, with advanced DNA technology and renewed determination, there is hope that this dark chapter in history may finally be closed.
