Hollywood Stars Stand with Palestine

Several Hollywood celebrities have voiced their support for Palestine. Figures such as:

  • Jessica Chastain
  • Channing Tatum
  • Cate Blanchett
  • Joaquin Phoenix
  • Mark Ruffalo
  • Andrew Garfield, and
  • Kristen Stewart

have all come forward saying there needs to be a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza – to protect civilians on both sides.

Susan Sarandon has been possibly the most vocal saying, “You don’t have to be Palestinian to care about what’s happening in Gaza. I stand with Palestine. No one is free until everyone is free”…which is also something the Palestinian Feminist Collective has been saying. She’s been defending the rights of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza for years.

Mark Ruffalo also voiced pro-Palestine statements with, “It’s time to sanction Netanyahu’s far-right government and deny them visas because of their calls for genocide.” And, rightly, he has called out the issue of the Palestinian children that are suffering without food and water.

John Cusack said this, “I’ll tell you what I didn’t hear: I didn’t hear death to Israel, I didn’t hear death to Jews, I didn’t hear people celebrating the killing of Israeli civilians,” on X (formerly Twitter) after a pro-Gaza march in Chicago. He went on to say, “What I still heard is – we need to free Palestine from a brutal occupation – people worried about their loved ones in a hellish area, stranded without food, water, and electricity. Profound anxiety from people being told to leave and then being bombed when they do.”

There are, of course, many celebrities that are throwing their support behind Israel such as Gal Gadot, Jerry Seinfeld and Michael Douglas.

Regardless of who’s throwing support for who, we all hope that peace returns to the Middle East and the Holy Land.
