House GOP to Biden: Come Defend Yourself

( – With piling evidence stacked up against him in the probe regarding his family’s possible criminal deals, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has formally requested Joe Biden to provide testimony as part of the Republicans’ impeachment investigation.

In a letter addressed to Biden, the Republican representative from Kentucky cited evidence suggesting that Biden’s past statements saying he was not involved with his son Hunter and brother James’ foreign business activities during and after his time as Vice President were misleading.

Comer has proposed giving Biden a venue where he could testify under oath about his connections to his family’s financial ventures abroad.

“I invite you to participate in a public hearing at which you will be afforded the opportunity to explain, under oath, your involvement with your family’s sources of income and the means it has used to generate it,” Comer wrote.

Although Biden has consistently denied taking part in his family’s business dealings by stating that he had no interaction with his son and brother’s partners, recent uncovered evidence says otherwise.

This includes meetings with representatives from Chinese companies backed by the Communist Chinese Party, alongside connections in Kazakhstan, Mexico, Russia and Ukraine, which raises suspicions about the Biden family selling access to Biden’s influential position.

To clarify these matters, Comer has sent Biden ten detailed questions about his relationships with his family’s international business associates.

The contrast between Biden’s claims that he was not involved and the evidence showing his participation in these dealings has left the public with conflicting narratives. Comer emphasized that resolving these discrepancies to assess Biden’s national security relevance and suitability for the presidency was key for the probe.

During his testimony to the impeachment inquiry, Hunter Biden acknowledged several meetings that contradicted his father’s claims, including a 2013 encounter in Beijing with Jonathan Li, the CEO of the Chinese government-affiliated BHR Partners, and a meeting in early 2017 with Ye Jianming, chairman of CEFC China Energy, another Chinese-linked venture.

Further complicating matters, financial transactions linked to CEFC China Energy to Biden family associates, including Hunter and James Biden, have raised questions about Joe’s financial benefits from foreign income.

Both IRS whistleblower Joseph Ziegler and his supervisor Gary Shapley testified that the Justice Department obstructed their investigation into Joe’s possible involvement in these foreign dealings.
