(5MinNewsBreak.com) – The Republican vice-presidential nominee just received amazing news: The latest polling data indicates that Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) is more trusted on key national issues than Minnesota Democrat Gov. Tim Walz.
This survey comes just as Vance prepares to debate Kamala Harris’ running mate next Tuesday evening in New York.
The debate will be moderated by CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell and foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan.
According to the poll conducted by the Senate Opportunity Fund, likely voters nationwide prefer Vance over Walz across several major issues, including immigration, national security, the economy and inflation and crime.
Vance’s strongest leads are in immigration and national security, where he is ahead by 6%.
For national security and immigration, 45% of respondents trust Vance more, compared to 39% for Walz, while 16% remain undecided.
Regarding economic issues and inflation, Vance again leads at 45%, Walz trails at 40% and 15% are undecided.
Regarding crime, 43% prefer Vance, 40% prefer Walz and 16% are still undecided.
The survey also found that Walz’s credibility suffered among voters who learned about his several trips to China, some sponsored by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and his current investigation by congressional committees.
A majority of 54% indicated they were less likely to trust Walz after hearing about these ties to China.
Only 15% felt more inclined to trust him, while 31% said it made no difference.
Furthermore, the poll reflects broader voter sentiments: 49% oppose Harris, compared to 45% support.
Republicans lead Democrats on a generic ballot 46% to 41%, and 67% of respondents feel the country is on the wrong track under the Biden-Harris administration, with only 26% approving their direction.
The Senate Opportunity Fund’s poll, which included an oversample from battleground Senate race states, was conducted in mid-September among 800 likely voters and has a margin of error of 3.5%.
