Miss USA Quits?!

(5MinNewsBreak.com) – In a surprise move, Miss USA Noelia Voigt has resigned from her title after just seven months, citing concerns for her mental health.

The 24-year-old announced this unexpected decision through an Instagram post on Monday morning.

“Never compromise your physical and mental well-being. Our health is our wealth,” Voigt eloquently expressed in the caption of her social media announcement, which coincided with the commencement of Mental Health Awareness Month.

“My tenure as Miss USA has been incredibly significant, representing Utah with distinction, and subsequently the USA at Miss Universe (conducted in November). Regrettably, I have made the extremely difficult decision to abdicate my role as Miss USA 2023,” she added.

Voigt was crowned the 72nd Miss USA in Reno, Nevada, on Sept. 23, 2023, marking her as the first Venezuelan-American woman to secure this title.

Previously, she had discussed the bullying she endured as a teenager, which began when she first entered pageants at age 16.

“I was so excited when I won that local pageant, and it was actually my ex-best friend who was the ringleader of it all,” Voigt disclosed to Business Insider.

“I was really hurt and confused as to why people I thought were my friends were making fun of me for doing something that I was really excited about and that I was doing good things with. “At first, it really did sting,” she recounted.

“But it was clear to me that it was an attempt to steal the joy I had from this accomplishment,” she added.

This ordeal motivated her to champion anti-bullying efforts in her pageantry endeavors and to author an anti-bullying children’s book titled “Maddie the BRAVE.”

Prior to her participation in Miss USA, Voigt pursued a degree in interior design at the University of Alabama and aspires to establish her own design firm.

She also dreams of hosting a television program to aid families in need of home renovations, as per the Miss USA website.

“Eternal gratitude fills my heart when I think about the platform I was given to make a difference, the sensation of fulfilling a lifelong dream, and establishing connections globally, just as I had promised on the Miss USA stage,” she further elaborated.

The Miss USA 2023 crown is now expected to be offered to the first runner-up, Miss Wisconsin USA Alexis Loomans, according to the rules.
