(5MinNewsBreak.com) – Idaho’s Board of Education has struck a decisive blow against the woke agenda infiltrating American universities as they decided to eliminate all DEI initiatives, putting an end to the left’s attempt to indoctrinate the youth with their radical ideology.
The Idaho State Board of Education’s resolution, approved with a resounding 8-0 vote bans DEI offices, initiatives, and student success centers based on DEI ideology from all public universities in the state.
Board President Dr. Linda Clark emphasized the significance of this decision, “I believe our actions as a Board today are a strong signal to all Idaho students that our institutions are prepared to meet whatever needs they have when they walk through the door.”
She continued, “I am looking forward to seeing our universities implement these resolutions while we continue working on the issue as a Board.”
The resolution goes beyond merely closing DEI offices. It prohibits universities from asking employees or students to share their preferred pronouns, effectively putting an end to the left’s attempts to force their gender ideology on unsuspecting students and faculty.
Additionally, the board has banned the use of diversity statements in hiring and admissions processes, ensuring that merit and qualifications, not woke checkbox requirements, determine an individual’s success.
Joshua Whitworth, director of the Office of the State Board of Education, stated, “This is really about leading and choosing to lead, rather than wait for someone else to define the path that is best for our students and our institutions.”
The board’s decision comes despite vocal opposition from the left. Over 700 student comments were received, with 80% opposing the DEI resolution.
However, the board stood firm in its commitment to protecting Idaho’s educational institutions from the corrosive influence of woke ideology.
Unsurprisingly, university presidents expressed disappointment with the policy as Boise State University President Marlene Tromp lamented, “I am gravely concerned that students and community members have felt devalued.”
Yet, this concern fails to acknowledge the divisive nature of DEI programs and their tendency to prioritize certain groups over others.
Moreover, the resolution allows for non-discriminatory activities, scholarships, and student clubs based on political or social issues, ensuring that true diversity of thought can flourish on campus without the heavy-handed influence of DEI bureaucrats.
It also mandates political neutrality and transparency in classroom teachings, a crucial step in combating the left’s attempts to indoctrinate students with their radical worldview.
Idaho’s bold stance against DEI ideology sets a powerful example for other states to follow.
