(5MinNewsBreak.com) – Conducting nine precision strikes against Iranian-backed targets in Syria, the United States military unleashed a powerful message to Iran and its proxies.
The U.S. Central Command-authorized decisive action comes in response to a series of vicious attacks on American personnel in the region.
U.S. forces just carried out the strikes targeting two separate locations in Syria to diminish the capabilities of Iranian-affiliated groups that threaten American and coalition forces in the region.
Central Command Commander Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla stated, “Our message is clear. Attacks against U.S. and coalition partners in the region will not be tolerated.”
“We will continue to take every step necessary to protect our personnel and coalition partners and respond to reckless attacks,” he added.
The general’s stern warning serves as a reminder that America will not stand idly by while its troops are targeted by hostile forces backed by the Iranian regime.
The recent escalation of attacks on U.S. troops by Iranian-backed groups has been linked to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, which began in October 2023.
The stakes are high for the nearly 900 U.S. forces currently operating in Syria. In August, eight American service members were injured in a drone attack believed to be carried out by one of these terror groups.
Despite the challenges, U.S. and Coalition forces continue to make progress in their mission to defeat ISIS.
Since August 29, Central Command forces have conducted over 95 operations that ended in the death of 163 terrorists and the capture of 33 others.
The U.S. military further showcased its resolve in February when it launched a significant attack on Iranian-backed militia sites in Syria.
This action came in response to a tragic drone attack in Jordan that resulted in the deaths of three U.S. service members.
