NOW: Crime Boss Found Dead!

5 Minute News Break Happening Now

(5MinNewsBreak.com)  In a bombshell turn of events, Hawaii crime boss Michael Miske was unexpectedly found dead in federal custody.

The timing of his death has sparked speculation about potential foul play as it happened just weeks before his sentencing for a litany of serious crimes.

Miske was found unresponsive in his cell at the Federal Detention Center in Honolulu, where he had been held since his arrest on July 15, 2020.

Although prison staff tried to resuscitate him, Miske was pronounced dead, with the cause of death yet to be determined.

Miske’s criminal career was highly notorious. As the leader of the “Miske Enterprise,” he had been convicted of 13 charges, including racketeering conspiracy, murder in aid of racketeering and kidnapping resulting in death.

His criminal activities spanned decades, from the late 1990s through June 2020, with a wide range of illegal operations that terrorized Hawaii.

One of the most chilling aspects of Miske’s criminal empire was his role in the disappearance and presumed murder of Jonathan Fraser, a friend of Miske’s late son Caleb.

Prosecutors asserted that Miske believed Fraser was responsible for his son’s death in a car crash in November 2015, leading to a revenge-driven plot.

As per the U.S. Attorney’s Office:

“During the trial, evidence was produced that from about March 2016 and continuing to about July 30, 2016, Miske conspired with others to kidnap and murder 21-year-old Johnathan Fraser in the belief that Fraser was responsible for Miske’s son’s death as a result of an automobile crash.”

The extent of Miske’s criminal activities was staggering. His enterprise was involved in murder, kidnapping, robbery and even chemical weapons attacks.

In a particularly vicious act, Miske conspired to release chloropicrin, a chemical weapon, into nightclubs in Honolulu in March 2017.

Miske’s death has not only put the judicial process on pause but also raised serious concerns about the federal prison system.

Recent investigations have revealed alarming issues within the Bureau of Prisons, including sexual abuse, staff misconduct, escapes, violence, deaths and staffing shortages.

The sudden end of Miske’s terror reign has left a power vacuum in Hawaii’s criminal underworld.

About a dozen of his associates are implicated in his criminal activities and now authorities must grapple with the potential fallout and reorganization of the criminal elements Miske once controlled.

The $28 million in seized assets, including boats, homes and artwork, reflects the massive wealth Miske amassed through his illegal operations.
