(5MinNewsBreak.com) – President Donald Trump has taken a sanctuary state by surprise after Tom Homan struck a decisive blow against illegal immigration.
Specifically, the border czar announced the arrest of 370 illegal aliens in Massachusetts during a major ICE operation.
The six-day sweep targeted dangerous criminal aliens, including gang members, murderers, drug traffickers, and child predators who had been living freely in sanctuary communities.
Law enforcement seized massive quantities of deadly drugs, including methamphetamine and fentanyl, while removing hundreds of criminal aliens from American streets.
The operation represented a coordinated effort between ICE and multiple federal agencies like the FBI, DEA, ATF, and CBP.
Of the 370 individuals arrested, 205 had significant criminal convictions or pending charges.
The apprehensions show the clear public safety threat posed by illegal immigration in Massachusetts communities.
Homan did not mince words when describing the operation’s importance, highlighting the dangers that sanctuary policies create for American citizens.
The operation specifically targeted members of violent transnational gangs MS-13, Tren de Aragua, Trinitarios, and 18th Street.
These criminal organizations are notorious for drug trafficking, violence, and terrorizing communities.
Six of those arrested were foreign fugitives wanted for serious crimes in their home countries, including four facing murder charges.
The operation also netted significant drug seizures: nearly 44 kilograms of methamphetamines, 5 kilograms of fentanyl, 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, and three firearms with ammunition.
“These arrests included 6 foreign fugitives, including four who were wanted for murder or to serve a criminal sentence for murder, along with drug traffickers, child sexual predators and numerous other violent public safety threats,” Homan explained.
Massachusetts’ sanctuary policies became a focal point of criticism during the operation.
Many of the arrests occurred after local jurisdictions refused to honor immigration detainer requests.
Said jurisdictions purposefully released dangerous criminals back into communities rather than cooperating with federal authorities.
This pattern of obstruction has repeatedly allowed criminal aliens to avoid deportation and remain free to victimize American citizens.
ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston Acting Director Patricia Hyde emphasized the positive impact of the operation.
She stated, “The Commonwealth is a safer place for our residents to live and work because ICE and our federal law enforcement partners arrested hundreds of alien offenders and removed them from the streets of Massachusetts.”
Despite clear evidence of criminal activity, liberal politicians in Massachusetts continued defending their sanctuary policies.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu pushed back against Homan’s statements, while Governor Maura Healey attempted to deny the state’s sanctuary status despite clear evidence that Massachusetts routinely undermines federal immigration enforcement.
U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts Leah B. Foley explained the situation.
She said, “Everyone should agree that we cannot and will not tolerate individuals who not only violate our immigration laws but then commit crimes that endanger our communities. Those who enter and remain in this country unlawfully are breaking the law.”
The ACLU of Massachusetts criticized the operation and urged state lawmakers to pass legislation that would further obstruct immigration enforcement.
Their response highlights how progressive organizations continue prioritizing illegal aliens over the safety of American citizens.
