She Played Dead, Then Revealed the Real Killer

(5MinNewsBreak.com) – A vicious crime took an unexpected turn as a victim played dead to escape her attacker before alerting authorities.

Specifically, a 15-year-old boy stands accused of brutally murdering five family members in their $2 million Fall City, Washington mansion.

The teen shockingly attempted to stage the scene as a murder-suicide committed by his younger brother.

However, his plans were foiled by the extraordinary bravery of his 11-year-old sister, who survived by playing dead.

The horrific incident happened when the teenager used his father’s gun to kill his parents, Mark and Sarah Humiston, and his three siblings, 13-year-old Benjamin, 9-year-old Joshua and 7-year-old Katheryn.

“The 15-year-old called 911 around 5 a.m. and said his brother had killed the family because he had gotten into trouble for looking at pornography,” said Prosecuting Attorney for King County Leesa Manion.

However, the truth came to light when the brave 11-year-old sister, who had survived by “holding her breath and playing dead,” managed to escape and alert authorities from a neighbor’s house. Her testimony became the key to unraveling her brother’s web of lies.

“The suspect’s 11-year-old sister told detectives that he had recently gotten into trouble for failing some tests at school,” the authorities reported.

The accused now faces five counts of aggravated murder and one count of attempted murder.

Prosecutors are considering trying him as an adult, which could result in a life sentence without the possibility of release.

“The suspect’s public defenders described him as “a 15-year-old boy who enjoys mountain biking and fishing and has no criminal history,” argued the teen’s public defenders.

The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many to wonder how a seemingly normal teenager could commit such a vicious act.
