‘The Proper Consequences…are Expulsion’ (Video)

(5MinNewsBreak.com) – Voicing what most reasonable Americans are yearning for, former Purdue University President Mitch Daniels stated that students who violate the law during protests should be expelled and replaced by previously rejected applicants.

Daniels, also a former Republican governor of Indiana, emphasized this point during an interview on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday,” saying, “I think that the proper consequences here, first of all, are expulsion from the university.”

“These so-called elite institutions pride themselves on their selectivity,” Daniels explained. “For every student who just broke a rule or a law there were 10, 20 students who would love to have had that space.

“And that space should now be made available to one of them so that they can come and use this wonderful opportunity of attending a good university as it was intended,” he added.

Additionally, Daniels revealed he did not support revoking student visas from individuals supporting Hamas, a group the U.S. has designated as a foreign terrorist organization, especially after the October 7 attack on Israel.

He expressed reservations about this approach, stating, “Probably not in most cases.”

However, Daniels acknowledged existing regulations that could potentially lead to visa termination for lawbreakers, adding, “Although if somebody broke the law, I suspect that there already are the rules that require or at least permit the termination of their right to visit this country.”

“You don’t have a right to come in and harm others, and there has been some of that [going] on. But no, not in general,” he elaborated.

Daniels’ commentary comes amid escalating protests on college campuses, which have sparked criticism against university administrators for mishandling the situation.

Some community members have even called for stronger enforcement of campus policies and better protection for Jewish students, while others have condemned police interventions as too aggressive.
