President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that these soldiers, sent by dictator Kim Jong-un to assist Russia, are being sacrificed in a desperate attempt to prevent capture and intelligence leaks.
According to Zelensky, over 3,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed or wounded in Russia’s Kursk region alone.

Zelensky has called on China to pressure North Korea to withdraw its forces, arguing that “Koreans should not be involved in a European war.”
However, China is unlikely to intervene in the conflict as it has been strengthening ties with Russia since the war began.
Reports suggest that Kim Jong-un has dispatched at least 11,000 troops to Russia, although neither Pyongyang nor Moscow have confirmed this.
