(5MinNewsBreak.com) – After filing a massive $10 billion lawsuit against the outlet for damages, President-elect Donald Trump has gone even further by demanding an apology from The New York Times.
Trump took to Truth Social to call out the liberal outlet for their years of unfair coverage and biased reporting.
He declared, “Will the failing New York Times apologize to its readers for getting years of ‘Trump’ coverage so wrong. They write such phony ‘junk,’ knowing full well how incorrect it is, only meaning to demean.”
Trump continued:
“They do no fact checking, because facts don’t matter to them. I don’t believe I’ve had a legitimately good story in the NYT for years, AND YET I WON, IN RECORD FASHION, THE MOST CONSEQUENTIAL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN DECADES. WHERE IS THE APOLOGY?”
The President-elect’s frustration is justified. Despite winning a historic presidential election and implementing policies that benefited millions of Americans, Trump has been a target of the Times for years.
Trump did not stop there. He specifically called out senior Times political correspondent Maggie Haberman for her role in spreading and cementing false narratives.
The president-elect accused Haberman of writing stories without proper fact-checking, which speaks volumes of her journalistic integrity.
The New York Times defended its reporting in response to Trump’s demand for accountability, claiming to champion “deeply-reported and authoritative coverage.”
This latest battle is just one chapter in the long-standing feud between Trump and the New York Times.
Since Trump entered politics, the publication has consistently criticized and undermined his America First efforts.
The Times’ bias is not limited to its coverage of Trump. Recently, it faced widespread criticism for a botched fact-check regarding Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s claims about differences in Froot Loops ingredients between the U.S. and Canada.
Even popular podcast host Joe Rogan called out the ineffectiveness of their fact-checking attempts.
