(5MinNewsBreak.com) – In an observation that bodes horribly for the nation in the event that Kamala Harris captures the White House, US government data shows that gas prices have spiked by 50% since she became vice president.
Despite Democrats’ claims of promoting “joy,” many Americans find little to celebrate, particularly at gas stations where fuel prices have surged by 50% since Vice President Kamala Harris entered office, Breitbart News observers in a report.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics, citing unadjusted figures, confirms this significant rise in gasoline costs since January 2021.
This escalation in prices is a stark and familiar reality for many.
During the Biden-Harris administration’s second year, gas prices repeatedly set new records.
The apex of these prices occurred on June 14, 2022, when regular unleaded gasoline hit a record average of $5.016 per gallon.
Diesel prices peaked shortly thereafter, reaching $5.816 on June 19, 2022, as per AAA’s records.
As of this Thursday, the average gas price stood at $3.361—still appreciably higher than the $2.38 average the day before Donald Trump vacated the presidency, as noted by a AAA press release dated January 19, 2021.
Even more striking, at one juncture in 2022, the price discrepancy from the Trump era soared to $2.62.
Despite the palpable impact of these price hikes, Democrats have consistently eschewed responsibility, attributing the increases to external factors such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and COVID-19-related supply disruptions.
They also point fingers at oil companies and market manipulation for inflating prices.
“No. I don’t think the public is blaming Democrats. I think they’re blaming oil companies,” stated Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) regarding the public’s perception of the gas price increase.
“They will blame all of us if we don’t do something about the fossil fuel industry,” she further remarked.
These issues extend beyond gasoline to other automotive-related economic pressures.
Since the commencement of the Biden-Harris tenure, car insurance premiums have climbed by 54%, new car prices by 19%, and prices for used cars and trucks by 20%.
Additionally, the cost of motor vehicle maintenance and repairs has escalated by 30% since January 2021.
Moreover, Vice President Harris has strongly advocated for Green New Deal policies aimed at eliminating fossil fuels.
Given these challenging economic conditions, the source of the “joy” Democrats celebrated at their convention remains elusive for many American consumers.
