(5MinNewsBreak.com) – Boeing faces intensifying scrutiny as a 737 freighter from the battered aircraft manufacturer burst into flames after an emergency landing at Sao Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport.
Watch the video below.
This latest incident adds to an alarming string of safety concerns plaguing Boeing as federal regulators tighten their grip on the company’s operations.
The horrifying fire happened when a Boeing 737-400 cargo plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Brazil.
The aircraft was completely destroyed despite the swift response of three airport fire brigade vehicles and five from the local Fire Department.
This alarming incident comes on the heels of another Boeing 737-800 making an emergency landing in Sydney, Australia, due to a “contained engine failure” just a day earlier.
These events have reignited concerns about Boeing’s quality control and safety measures, which have been under intense scrutiny since January when a Boeing 737 MAX lost a door panel mid-flight.
As Boeing deals with these safety issues, the company faces additional challenges. Workers are returning after a 53-day strike that paralyzed 737 production, dealing a significant blow to Boeing’s revenue and production targets.
The manufacturer seeks to increase production from the current 30 planes per month to over 50, but safety concerns may slow these ambitious goals.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is not taking these incidents lightly. Following a February audit that uncovered 97 instances of noncompliance at Boeing, the agency plans to implement increased oversight of the company.
FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker assessed that necessary safety changes could take Boeing three to five years to implement fully.
This heightened scrutiny comes at a critical time for Boeing as it attempts to balance safety improvements with production demands.
