(5MinNewsBreak.com) – After dismissing his nomination as a dead-on-arrival attempt, Democrats are now fretting over Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s successful independent effort to gain ballot access in a state known for its key role in determining election outcomes.
Backed by the Natural Law Party, Kennedy and his vice-presidential candidate Nicole Shanahan completed all required formalities for ballot inclusion in Michigan.
Natural Law Party Chair Doug Dern praised Kennedy as exceptionally qualified and expressed enthusiasm about having Kennedy and Shanahan’s candidacy under the party’s banner.
Founded in 1992, the Natural Law Party promotes solutions to “problems at their basis by bringing individual life, and our national policies, into greater harmony with natural law” across various sectors including education, health care, energy and agriculture.
Kennedy’s inclusion in the Michigan ballot makes him a third option in the presidential race as an alternative to the expected rematch between Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
His campaign has also confirmed he qualified for ballots in Nevada and North Carolina, two other states where Trump leads Biden slightly.
Michigan is among the states deemed crucial for Democrats to secure a win for Biden in 2024.
Kennedy’s presence on the ballot could endanger Biden’s campaign efforts in Michigan, especially after Biden’s stance on Israel sparked outcry from a portion of Michigan’s Muslim voters.
According to RealClearPolitics, although Trump is currently leading Biden in Michigan Kennedy’s addition to the race alongside other third-party candidates like Jill Stein and Cornel West could potentially affect the election’s national dynamics.
By choosing Shanahan as his running mate, Kennedy made a notable move, given her legal background and history of political donations to Democratic causes. She supported Biden’s 2020 campaign and contributed to various initiatives focused on social justice and reform.
Although Trump has slammed Kennedy’s campaign by labeling him as “the most radical Left candidate in the race,” he also suggested that Kennedy’s candidacy “is going to be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden, which would be a great service to America.
